Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the Executive Council of AORTIC and the AORTIC Research Committee, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the conference 2nd Cancer Genomics Conference in Lagos, Nigeria, from 8-10 May 2023. The conference venue is the Marriott Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The conference will be convened under the following themes:
Main symposium theme: “Africa Genomic Diversity: A Panacea for Disparities in Global Cancer Care Control.”
Subtheme: “Leveraging Genomics for cancer etiology research, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care globally.”
The AORTIC Cancer Genomics Conference 2023 will enable the exchange of ideas and is an opportunity to showcase work on the Continent and the Diaspora with oncology leaders from around the world.
Our aim is to bring together experts on oncology and genomics throughout Africa and in the diaspora at large, encouraging peer learning and discussion on cancer genomics and how it could be leveraged to achieve equity in cancer outcomes within the context of current research and clinical care of cancer.
The conference goals are to develop a network of scientists to lead genomic science in Africa, develop a road map for cancer genomics research agenda for Africa, and strengthen the special interest group on genomics in AORTIC.
ABOUT THE AORTIC Cancer Genomics Conference 2023
The 3- day conference will feature an in-depth scientific program that addresses the nexus between genomics and the cancer control continuum for the Black population globally. The conference will expose participants to the strengths and opportunities of inclusion of highly genetically and culturally diverse African populations in closing the cancer control gap globally. Additional special interests will include:
- Pathology
- Clinical Trials
- Basic and Translational Science
- Implementation Science
We look forward to welcoming you to Lagos, Nigeria.
