The AORTIC conferences provide a unique platform to bring together leading African and international health care professionals in cancer care, advocates, leaders in Government, and various members of the international health industry and global cancer community to meet and discuss cancer-related matters and proffer solutions to significantly reduce the impact of cancer in Africa and indeed around the world.

AORTIC 2025
The 15th AORTIC International Conference on Cancer in Africa will take place in North Africa in the city of Hammamet, Tunisia, from 2-5 November 2025, with the theme, “Advancing Cancer Care Across Africa: Equity Through Empowering Research & Education. Harnessing African Partnership to Drive Quality of Cancer Care and Patient Outcomes”.

AORTIC 2023
The 14th AORTIC International Conference on Cancer in Africa took place in Dakar from 2 to 6 November 2023, bringing together multidisciplinary specialists from the global cancer community to reduce the impact of cancer in Africa.
The biennial AORTIC International Conference on Cancer in Africa is the definitive event on the African health calendar, enabling the exchange of ideas and the opportunity to learn from oncology leaders from all over Africa and around the world.
More than 1,000 registered to attend AORTIC 2023 with representation from over 60 countries.
AORTIC 2021
The 13th AORTIC International Conference on Cancer in Africa took place virtually from 5 to 10 November 2021, bringing together multidisciplinary specialists from the global cancer community to reduce the impact of cancer in Africa.
The African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) is an Africa-based organisation with members throughout Africa and the international cancer community. Our objectives are to support, integrate, and facilitate evidence-based interventions and innovative programmes towards the prevention and control of cancer in Africa.

Cancer Genomics Conference: African genomic diversity
A roadmap to global equity in cancer control
The African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) held its Inaugural Cancer Genomics Conference with the theme, “African Genomic Diversity: A Roadmap to Global Equity on Cancer Control”
The 2- day Cancer Genomics in Africa Conference was held to address basic science and clinical research on cancer genomics and genetics research relevant to Africa and people of African descent in the diaspora. This included the following topics:

AORTIC 2019
AORTIC 2019 was held in Maputo, Mozambique from 5 to 8 November 2019, with the theme “Cancer in Africa: Innovation, strategies, implementation.
AORTIC 2017
AORTIC 2017 took place from 7 to 10 November at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda, with a pre-conference symposium on 6 November.
