Il dirige le Garissa Cancer Center, le premier et unique \u00e9tablissement d\u2019oncologie du nord du Kenya, rapprochant ainsi des milliers de personnes des traitements vitaux, alors qu\u2019elles devaient auparavant parcourir de longues distances pour se faire soigner. <\/p>\n<p>Ses recherches et son plaidoyer portent sur les services d\u2019oncologie d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s, les soins adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 la culture, l\u2019int\u00e9gration des soins palliatifs et l\u2019innovation en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 num\u00e9rique dans les milieux \u00e0 faibles ressources.<\/p>\n<p>Le Dr Abdihamid a men\u00e9 des projets visant \u00e0 quantifier l\u2019impact des centres r\u00e9gionaux de canc\u00e9rologie, \u00e0 faire progresser les syst\u00e8mes d\u2019orientation des patients et \u00e0 \u00e9tudier comment les contextes culturels et religieux africains influencent l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux traitements et leurs r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n<p>Boursier Common Sense Oncology 2024 et boursier de recherche sur le cancer \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Queen\u2019s au Canada, il est \u00e9galement boursier de l\u2019Africa Cancer Leadership Institute 2023 et r\u00e9cipiendaire du prix IDEA de l\u2019ASCO.
