Medical Oncology

Objectives:

  1. Promote the training of highly skilled medical oncologists through supporting existing and new programs in maintaining the highest standards of qualification
  2. Promote continuous professional development to support the role medical oncologists in providing evidence-based, safe and cost-effective use of cancer drugs and preserving the quality of life of cancer patients through the entire ‘cancer journey’
  3. Support the engagement of medical oncologists in clinical, health services and translational research to promote innovation and to provide evidence for effectiveness of systemic therapy in cancer patients in Africa
  4. Create a dynamic, stimulating professional networking forum for African medical oncologists to address systemic therapy concerns in the continent
  5. Provide mentorship and support for medical oncology trainees and early career medical oncologists
