Christian Agbo
I am Dr Christian Agbo, a senior lecturer and consultant urological surgeon with interest in urological oncology at the Benue State University and Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, Nigeria respectively.
I earned my medical degree from Ahmadi Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. I completed my postgraduate training at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the faculty of Surgery. I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeon. I also had international training from Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital, Nadiad, India and Bristol Urological Institute, United Kingdom. I have special interest in Kidney, Bladder, Prostate, and Testicular and Penile Cancers.
Additionally, I am an experienced administrator with past role of head of Surgery department and currently head of postgraduate training in Surgery and head of accident and emergency departments.With humility I utilize keen analysis and a team-based approach to drive organizational improvements and implementation of best clinical practices. I have more than 25 publications in peer reviewed journals.
I am an active member of AORTIC, Societie Internationale Urologie, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Association for Cancer Research.
I am happily married with a daughter.

Motivation:
I believe my passion for care for humanity and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations make me an ideal candidate for this position.
I will transform cancer control in Africa through collaboration in education, research and delivery of equitable and timely interventions to minimize the impact of cancer.

Olusegun Alatise
Prof. Olusegun Isaac Alatise has been a Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University and a Consultant, General Surgeon, at the Teaching Hospital. His area of interest is in Surgical Oncology and Gastroenterology. He had his Surgical Oncology training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA. He has also had other training fellowships in Endoscopy and Colorectal Surgery sponsored by the World Gastroenterology Organization, African Middle East Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the International Council of Coloproctology. He has attended many national and international meetings as a resource person, and he is a member of many national and international organizations in his area of interest. He is a leader and a trainer in Oncology and Gastroenterology in Nigeria. He co-chair the AORTIC SIG in Clinical trial.
He co-founded the African Research Group for Oncology (ARGO) in 2013. The group runs a clinical database and biobank for colorectal and breast cancer. He is a member of the Lancet Oncology Commission on Global Cancer Surgery. He is also a Co-PI on multiple prospective studies on colorectal and breast cancer in Nigeria, including a UG3/UH3 NIH grant (awarded in 2017), Oak Foundation award in 2021, D43 in 2022, R01 as well as Cancer Prevent grant awarded in 2023. He has trained over 30 General Surgeons many interested in Surgical Oncology and have taken faculty positions in Nigeria. He has over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 5 chapters.

Motivation
I hope to improve the visibility of AORTIC in the West African Sub-region by collaborating with professional bodies in various countries. I hope to network with international organizations to build capacity in different aspects of oncology in the West African sub-region. I hope to encourage and facilitate local research in Oncology.

Adegboyega Fawole
I am Professor Adegboyega Adisa FAWOLE was born on 5th June 1961. I obtained a Bachelor of Surgery; Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) Degree in 1984 from the University of Ilorin.
I bagged the Fellowship of West African College of Surgeons 1994, obtained Certificate in Health Information and Management System 1997 and was awarded the Honourary Fellowship of the International College of Surgeons (FICS) in 2004.
I was appointed Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in March 2014.
My research interests are in Gynae–Oncology (epidemiology and preventive care for cancer, chemotherapy and surgery in gynaecological cancer, and management of pain) and Community Obstetrics. I have published over 50 articles in reputable journals and some chapters in Text books.
I have given numerous public lectures on prevention of cancer, and I transfer knowledge on cancer care to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
I served as External Examiner to Universities for undergraduate examinations and as examiner at the West African College of Surgeons for the Postgraduate level examinations.
I have served as member, Management Board of the Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin 2018 – 2022. I am currently serving on the Governing Council of the University of Ilorin since Dec 2022.
I belong to a number of professional and social associations – Nigerian Cancer Society, African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the International Association for the Study of Pain. I have travelled widely to participate in Conferences and Workshops.

Motivation
I have a strong interest in gynae-oncology, I work in the community and and I participate in Board Room discussions, through these experiences, I have acquired necessary qualities to serve on Council.
On the Council , I will serve mainly the interest of AORTIC and support the President.
