A AORTIC participar\u00e1 na reuni\u00e3o da SSO 2025 em Tampa, Florida, em outubro.<\/p>\n<p>No \u00e2mbito do nosso memorando de entendimento cont\u00ednuo com a Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), estamos a procurar formas de expandir a capacidade cir\u00fargica em \u00c1frica. A SSO apoia o Programa Internacional de Interc\u00e2mbio para o Desenvolvimento de Carreiras. Esta iniciativa permite que oncologistas cir\u00fargicos envolvidos em cirurgia oncol\u00f3gica assistam \u00e0 reuni\u00e3o anual da SSO e passem 1 a 2 semanas num centro \u00e0 sua escolha, estabelecendo liga\u00e7\u00f5es, ganhando experi\u00eancia e partilhando conhecimentos sobre as melhores pr\u00e1ticas. Esta parceria \u00e9 crucial porque a cirurgia oncol\u00f3gica est\u00e1 atrasada em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a outras modalidades de tratamento, apesar de abranger todo o espectro de cuidados, desde o diagn\u00f3stico e a preven\u00e7\u00e3o at\u00e9 ao tratamento e aos cuidados paliativos. \u00c9 uma pe\u00e7a fundamental que necessita de mais aten\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Estamos orgulhosos da recetora deste ano, uma oncologista cir\u00fargica a exercer em Angola, a Dr.\u00aa Iryna Jacinto, sediada no Hospital Irene Neto e uma das nossas L\u00edderes Africanas de Combate ao Cancro da AORTIC (ver ACLI). Ela est\u00e1 empenhada em fazer a diferen\u00e7a nos cuidados oncol\u00f3gicos na sua regi\u00e3o.
