General Assembly

The General Assembly is the governing body of the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer. 

AORTIC’s General Assembly meets every two years during the AORTIC Conference to elect a new Executive Council as well as the new President-elect. During the General Assembly, member organisations are generally presented with a performance overview (with mid-term or end of a 4-year workplan cycle evaluation), a review and highlights of the past two years since the last Assembly, and insight into the future plans and ambitions of AORTIC. Those eligible to vote to adopt the minutes of the previous General Assembly as well as to approve the financial accounts for the previous two years.

Eligible attendees

As per the Constitution, the General Assembly shall be attended by:

  • AORTIC member organisations
  • Other observers by special invitation of the President
  • Members of the Executive Council of AORTIC
  • The AORTIC Managing Director
 

Voting rights

Only members have the right to guide AORTIC priorities and activities through voting at the General Assembly.
