Overview of the Partnership
ASCO supports AORTIC by allowing for an AORTIC side event every year at the ASCO annual meeting. This is an opportunity for the AORTIC leadership to engage Africa diaspora, those conducting research in Africa and young African researchers attending ASCO to promote the vision and mission of AORTIC and showcase opportunities to get involved or support financially.

In 2025 AORTIC launched a new event, the “Best of ASCO Africa” in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A two-day program draws on the latest science and education from the world’s premier oncology event, the ASCO® Annual Meeting. The program features in-depth discussion and analysis of the latest scientific findings in primary disease sites and practice-changing advances in cancer treatment. African expert faculty review the findings, discuss the results potential impact on the current standard of care, and apply the results within the clinical context of an African patient case.
