AORTIC Executive Council is composed of 15 members elected by the General Assembly, including the President and the President-elect. The Nominating Committee is tasked with oversighting the process to secure nominations for and the election of new Executive Coucil members in a fair and transparent manner.
The Nominating committee consists of the President-elect, the President, the Immediate Past-President and at least two Council members appointed by the President. The slate of nominees will be determined to ensure a balance of skills, geography, gender and cancer control background as well as to ensure continuity between current and new Council members. The President and the Nominating Committee will aim at presenting an appropriate number of candidates for the 12 positions available for members of the Board and one position for President-Elect. The General Assembly is the governing body of the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer. The General Assembly is open to attendance by all AORTIC members and it is convened every two years.
AORTIC members are invited to shape the future of our organisation by nominating candidates for the Executive Council and for President-elect.
Successful candidates will represent the interests of AORTIC members across the continent and provide strategic direction to the AORTIC as the organisation pursues its mission.
The nomination process for Executive Council members for the period 2025-2027 is now open.
