Prof Raphael Kalengayi Mbowa
AORTIC is saddened to learn of the passing of Prof Raphaël Kalengayi Mbowa (RMK) on April 19th 2020 in Belgium. Prof Kalengayi was born on October 22, 1940 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Prof Kalengayi was President of AORTIC from 1989-1991. He was an accomplished Pathologist. He was Head of Pathology services, Medical Director of the Kinshasa Teaching Hospital (Cliniques Universitaires de Kinshasa), Dean of the Medical School and Chancellor of Mbujimayi University. In addition, Prof Kalegayi authored a number of scientific articles and chapters in books.
AORTIC extends sincere condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.
Prof Kalengayi leaves behind his wife & 5 children.
